UK Court Gives Permission to Sue Someone on Blockchain via NFTs

A judge in the UK court granted permission to sue a person using a blockchain ledger via a nonfungible token ⁠(NFTs), marking the first time an NFT gained the status of legal documentation in court proceedings this week in the country, according to a report from Bloomberg. UK Court Allows Lawsuit to be Airdropped According to court documents, a judge in the United Kingdom has given the approval for legal documents to be served over a blockchain via a non-fungible token (NFT). The ruling comes from a case brought by Fabrizio D’Aloia, the founder of an online gambling company against cryptocurrency exchanges and other platforms including Binance. D’Aloia claimed to have been lured by an online brokerage into depositing about 2.1 million USDT and 230,000 USDC into two wallets that turned out to be fraudulent. The court ruled that the exchanges were thus responsible for ensuring that stolen crypto was not moved or taken out of their systems. Binance, Poloniex, Gate.io, OKX, and Bitkub have been identified by D’Aloia as holding his crypto.
