Crypto Scammers Hacked the British Army’s Social Media Accounts

On July 3, hackers gained access to the official Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube accounts of the British Army and advertised fraudulent non-fungible token (NFT) collecting and cryptocurrency scams for almost four hours. Shortly after 2 PM ET, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) Press Office of the United Kingdom tweeted that it was aware that the Army’s social media accounts had been compromised and had conducted an inquiry. Around 5:45 PM ET, nearly four hours later, the Office published an update stating that they had fixed the account breaches.
