Dogecoin Foundation teams up with ethereum's Vitalik Buterin for community staking

The Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) Foundation is working with Vitalik Buterin, the founder of ethereum (ETH-USD) blockchain, on developing a proposal for a community staking version of Proof-of-Stake, according to a release. This will enable "everyone, not just the big players to participate in a way that rewards them for their contribution to running the network," the release says. Meanwhile, Dogecoin (DOGE-USD), the 12th largest digital token by market cap, gains more than 2% intra-day amid a broader crypto rally. Recall in mid-December, Elon Musk said Tesla will accept dogecoin for some of its merchandise.
