Axie Infinity Fully Removes Token Rewards From Its Classic Game Mode

Axie Infinity (AXS), a Play-to-Earn (P2E) blockchain game, has entirely eliminated the token incentives from its traditional game mode in an effort to draw players to a new game mode called Axie Infinity Origin. As of Friday, it will no longer be possible to create Smooth Love Potions (SLPs) in the game’s classic mode. Developers say there will be a transfer of SLP prizes to the new game mode. While the team undergoes a monitoring phase to look for bugs, abuses, and exploits, minting won’t be available for 30 days. The AXS token was still down 98.7% from its all-time high of $0.39 in July 2021, despite the team’s efforts to make economic improvements.
