This week's under the radar earnings reports

This week's earnings were highlighted by Apple and Amazon, both of which dipped after revenue came in below estimates. Here are some names that may have been overlooked. American Campus Communities (NYSE:ACC), the largest developer and owner of student housing communities in the U.S., started the week off strong as CEO Bill Bayless said the company is "experiencing the most substantial fundamental tailwinds we’ve seen in many years." Fall occupancy rates are near all-time highs at 95.8% versus expectations of 92-94%. College enrollment is growing. At 48 universities that ACC was able to collect data for, first-year enrollments rose 7.4% over Fall 2020 and 6.4% over pre-pandemic Fall 2019. In the prior 30-year period, average first-year enrollment growth was approximately 2%. Meanwhile competitors are constructing fewer student housing communities.
